The
new football pitch was Officially opened on Saturday 9th September 2006.
The field (beyond the tennis courts) was under development for the last
two years and was officially opened for use by Leeds United's Matthew
Killgallon.
It was a fantastic afternoon for all the kids, who were able to meet
the Leeds Utd star, play on the bouncy castles, battle with the puttle
sticks, enjoy a burger and play a few games of football. The parents
had a more relaxing time chillin' in the shade with a few glasses of
wine.
The
new pitch is a result of two years hard work from the clubs pitch Development
officer Mike Cross and some fantastic support from the Tockwith Sportsfield
Association, the Parish Council and the Football Foundation.
